My father in law has an out of contract phone he wishes to give to his grand daughter but we need it unlocked. He doesn't remember any of his log in details or if he even created an online account. We cannot register as he took his number to his new account. We have the phone a Huawei p smart and the box etc and his old ee sim card. Can anyone advice me what steps to take next please

@andrewc1ark : If the device had been on his contract for at least 6 months, even if that contract has now been cancelled, he can just apply using the Unlocking your device form as the Pay Monthly option and giving the mobile number that it originally came with. It will first show his new current phone on that number, if any, & ask whether that is the device he wants to unlock? If not, he will then have to type in the IMEI of the old phone.
