Hi @Sarah198

Why are you alleging it was miss sold? Because you keep it on charge?

As for data usage you understand that you use data sending and receiving? Depending on the router you maybe able to check your usage on the data usage section.

Thanks

Hi @Sarah198 ,

Portable WiFi routers typically run off a battery and I was lucky to get one, not from the service provider, which by chance can be powered by usb cable with battery removed.

If you were incorrectly told your device can function without its battery, you could complain to the sales person's manager to see if any compensation is due.

16 GB in 5 hours seems like huge usage as I currently average 8 GB in one day.

@Sarah198   What are you doing when you are using the router ? Playing games/watching YouTube?  What exactly.

using now tv stick, I don't know why using so much data and didn't expect it.

If your using a NowTV Stick or any other Streaming Device then 16gb for around 5 Hours use sounds about right.

Video Streaming through a MiFi, Hotspot or any other LTE Router will always deliver the Streaming Stick or Box,s maximum required Video Quality throughput with the only real restriction on being the Routers Internet Bandwidth Speed at any one time, where as a Mobile or Small Tablet streaming Video directly through an App or Web Page from a Mobile Network will use a lot less Data due to the smaller Video Format quality required for a Small Screen.

As a rough quide, Data Usage through a Streaming Stick will be, for normal SD / 720p about 1Gb per Hour, 1080p / 2K around 2.5 to 3gb per Hour and UHD / 4K around and maybe over 7gb per Hour.

If you plan on doing a lot of Video Streaming through the EE MiFi Device you probably need to consider Upgrading or going on a Unlimited Data Plan with EE, and also possibly discuss with EE the use of their 600gb FUP per month on Unlimited Plans.
