when i purchase a phone online does it come with a simcard or do i have to order separately. The one currently in the old phone i think is too big not a micro

Welcome to the community.
Your old SIM might be a combi-SIM, meaning it pops out into a nano SIM.
Your upgrade will come with a new SIM, but if your old one fits, you can pop that in.
