New phone and sim upgrade

So I’ve recently upgraded my sim and phone contract, from an IPhone X to an iPhone 12. I’ve got a new contract as well, and I was just wondering how it works with transferring sims between the phones. I know my current sim can fit in my new phone, but will my sim kind of “update” and start using the new contract once it’s in the iPhone 12? Or will I still be using the contract I’ve been using on the X?

Hi @kelly1196

If your old SIM works still then use that one.

Thanks

Hey Northerner,

Thank you for replying so fast. That’s fine, I know that already, but will my old sim automatically recognise I’m using a new phone, and update itself, in turn allowing me to start using the benefits of the new contract when I put it into the new phone? Or will it keep using my current contract?

The old SIM doesn't care what phone it's in. As you did an upgrade it will just auto switch to the new plan wherever it is.
