New SIM received with upgrade - do I have to use it?

SophieH1

Hi there, I upgraded my phone yesterday evening  from my old Sony Xperia XY1 compact to a new Sony Xperia 5 ii. It was delivered this morning (great service!) and has come with a new SIM which I wasn't expecting.

Do I need to activate and use the new SIM or can I continue using the old SIM? I have used the old SIM to set up the phone and all seems to be working well.

If I activate and use the new SIM, will all my information have been carried over from the old SIM to the new one?

Thanks 🙂

Sophie

Hi @SophieH1

Welcome to the community

EE often supply a new SIM with upgrade phones incase, for whatever reason, your existing SIM is unsuitable or doesn't work.

If your current SIM fits your new phone and works - then you are absolutely best off using it.
