Galaxy Watch 4 4G on New Sim-Only

Hi,

I've just re-joined and took out a sim-only contract the other day with the first bill generated but not due to be paid until end of month and got my GW4 4G today, so can I add now to my account or will I need to wait until first bill paid.

If I can add now, will the add-on just be doubled for next month, seeing the bill already generated

thanks

@Christopher_G this is what keeps showing on mobile - not sure if i need to wait longer for it to be properly activated?

and this is showing on account

Update:

Called 150 and it's now resolved, even though it asks you initially to link to a mobile plan and adds everything to your account, it actually doesn't link the phone and watch together, which is why I kept getting the message to link to a plan.

You have to go through adding the mobile plan again, which should then link it properly.

Bit convoluted way, but its done now, thanks to the peeps on 150

@walkerx  can you set this up from within the wear app on your phone ? If it allows you to add it and set it up then it allows you to do just that and there’s only one way to find out.

And if it does allow it yes it will be twice the payment one is backdated from when you were activated it and obviously you pay for the month ahead.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thanks,

I'll be setting it up later today (even though eager to do it now) as got to pop out for an hour and want time to set it up and switch from my GWA2, so fingers crossed.

Cheers

PS It's a nice watch, gone for the GW4 46mm 4G and it about the same size as the GWA2 44mm overall

@Chris_B yeh they are nice watches and must admit a lot better than my older huawei watches. hoping the battery not too bad on the GW4 and gets through a full day

@Chris_B totally confused

When through the process through the Wearable App and it said can only link to a 10gb data plan and  share minutes/texts from my current plan.

Next I get a notification about a 1gb data boost added to my account and checking my account it has gone from 200GB to 201GB and says it will next up to 4 hours to activate the change

There was also no pricing to show what you are paying a month when going through the setup, but gone into my account and it shows the 1gb data boost which cannot be removed, then found a plan for the smartwatch for £7 a month, but this has a different number, will calls be routed through to it as though someone rang my mobile and if i make calls from it will it show from my mobile number

Hi @walkerx

It may be worth calling 150 so they can check what's happened and put it right.

Chris

@walkerx   The watch does have its own number but this is for cellular data and billing.  The watch will use your call/text allowance from your phone.     The watch has its own 10Gb of data per month and it’s £7 per month.   When calls/texts are made from the watch it will show your phones number.

Im surprised you got the 1Gb data for having a additional line on your account was it being a watch though. I didn’t know EE did that for watch contacts added to your account.

@Christopher_G it is showing a number for phone and watch, with the watch plan stating £7 and 10GB of data as @Chris_B mentions

@Chris_B I wonder if the additional 1GB was given free while they setup the watch account

Do either of you know how to get it to show the device  model instead of unknown on the account

(ie Samsung S20 Fe 5G and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 4G)

And old WearOS watchfaces work on it, which is a big plus
