Forced into recovery mode

I have an iPhone 12 Pro and wifi calling just never works since switching from Vodafone. Spoke with tech support who made some changes, after a while I was sent a text and asked to restart. The restart left the phone recovery mode which was a problem as I am on call, managed to restore while at a friends house but it meant loss of service for about 2 hours.

is this a recognised occurrence? should I chase EE for an explanation?

Plus is wifi calling an issue for others?

Hi @docdid

WiFi calling only works when you have no signal. Do you receive a mobile signal without WiFi calling?

Are you on PAYG or pay monthly contract?

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone. You can call Freephone +44 800 079 8586 on Skype

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

All calls fail, incoming and outgoing when no 4g - wifi simply does not work.

Pay monthly

@docdid , Have you gone into settings, mobile data and checked that wifi calling is on? You may need to have a network refresh.

When you have 4G signal showing, are you able to make outgoing calls and receive incoming calls at all? Is the problem just happening in one place or everywhere?

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

@docdid   What EE did will not force your device in to recovery mode.  What EE did was probably reset your line.  Is it working now ok ?  If not try a network reset on your device you’ll have to put your WiFi passwords back on your device after this.
