EE 4GEE Mini Mobile WiFi (2020) Pay Monthly 4G White

Currys are currently selling a 4GEE Mini Mobile WiFi (2020) on ebay for a good price, it says its a pay monthly rolling contract. I already have a 12 month mobile data sim but my router is faulty, would I be able to use my sim in the Currys 4GEE Mini 2020?

If this is the one (£9.99) it looks like you have to sign up in a Currys store..

All pay monthly mobile broadband devices must be taken with a 30 day rolling contract. All contracts must be connected in store, and cannot be connected online.

Choose from four different pay monthly data plans

With a rolling contract, the 4GEE Mini 2020 offers a great alternative to being tied into a home broadband contract, ideal for casual internet users. Plus with its portable nature, you can easily use it in remote locations which are unable to get a broadband connection.

To make sure you can access as much as you need on the internet, you can choose one of six data plans to suit your needs.

I did see this but didn't really see how they can force you in to a contract to make it work
unless its password protected or doesn't actually take a sim.

You may use an EE SIM in any EE device. You buy it from Currys on eBay for £10 & don't bother with its contract & SIM. I'm even tempted by it 😉 !

Thanks for the reply,  these mobile routers are quite a lot more expensive than the £10 being charged, as it states you need a rolling contract I thought there may be some reason I could not use it with an existing EE data sim without buying more data, anyway I bought one so I will see if it will work with my existing 12 month EE data sim, if it works I got a good deal if not I wasted £10

Please let me know & I might get one.

You buy it on eBay for £10. That's your only commitment. They can't force you further into a contract unless you go into their shop & agree to 1. The eBay offer probably comes w/out a SIM so some punters might think they have to go to Currys & enter into a contract to get it working at all.

Well, I bought 1 of these for £10 from Currys on eBay. It comes w/out SIM, as expected, but works perfectly well with an EE PAYG SIM.

I await Currys nagging me to come into store & take out a Pay Monthly contract 😉 .
