For the love of sanity, can someone please tell me the actual username & password requirements when changing them on the 4GEE wifi router (EE60VB)!
I've lost the will to live & count of the number of Device resets I've done.
After reset the usual admin/admin works. But *anything* I change to & immediately logout/login to check fails
Screen looks like:
So, silly me, tried numerous un/pw combinations, both between 4 & 16 characters. Each time get a "Success" pop up. But login won't accept the new details (or the default ones for that matter)
Can't find any reference to current specifications for these on EE's site.
I found a thread discussing that password needs to be 8 - 16 characters. But still having issues after trying 8 - 16 combos several times.
Is there some unspecified requirement for a mandatory special character, or requirement to sacrifice an actual osprey for this to work?
Thanks in advance

After changing them & getting "Success" try rebooting device, re-connecting & logging in.

@XRaySpeXI appreciate the reply.
Reset device
connected to device (login reverted back to admin/admin)
on login prompted to change.
Clicked link & taken to Quick Setup > Security page (image from OP)
changed details (mask: A: uppercase, a:lowercase, 9:digit):
User: Aaaaa99
Pass: aaaaaa9AAA
switched off device
switched off PC wifi
browsed to settings & 'forgot' wifi network
started device
switched on PC wifi
clicked on "Hidden Network'
navigated to 192.168.1.1 in browser
entered new details: "! User Name or Password is wrong"
reset device. Logged in with defaults.
reset login to:
user: Aaaaa9AAA
pass: aaaaaa9999
disconn.
switched off wifi. Restarted wifi (no forget this time)
started device
connected & attempted login
same error
I'm pretty much at the point of just living with the insecure defaults tbh

btw I disable broadcast SSID, so hence "hidden network"

Just on off-chance can you do it with broadcast SSID rather than "hidden network"?

I tried again after posting, with device reset to default, so all settings in the 'out of the box' state.
Then, tried changing login to 8 char with upper, lower & numeric in ~ u: Aaaaa999, p: aaaaaaA9
Still fails. Only other idea I have is to see if I can do this with USB connected & PC wifi off (not even sure if this is possible). But, not today, as I'm out of time

That is possible. It forms a quasi-Ethernet connection to PC but I can't see that helping.
I could try out this issue myself with an Osprey Mini (which I've kept at "admin"/"admin") but at the mo' I have a 4GEE WiFi Mini in.

OK, put my Osprey Mini back in & logged in as "admin"/"admin". Changed to:
Windows offered to keep them. Logged out & logged in again with fields filled in by Windows. WORKED SUCCESFULLY with no special steps like reboot or recon 🙂 !

Before I put the Osprey Mini back to bed I thought I'd try your creds (last set). They also work perfectly 🙂 !

The joy of Windows/Problem troubleshooting 🙂
Tried various things to get past this issue:
used different browser ~ fail
as per your previous, used admin/pw of 10 chars lc+digits ~ fail
9char uname+10char pw ~ fail
disabled browser addins ~ fail
disabled security software ~ fail
switched off wifi, usb conn>router, disabled addins & security ~ fail
I appreciate your time, but I'm at a loss to this issue & can't devote any more time to this atm.
I'm just going to have to live with the default for now. But, I can change the SSID, wifi pw, etc without issue so that will have to suffice. Not much but something at least
