Cant get proof of purchase on account I payed off early

I needed to port my number to a different network. I was told this was fine but I would have to pay off my contract in full. I did this and the customer care team are saying that the account is showing up as cancelled. They can't get me a proof of purchase that I need for my warranty? Is paying off the contract in full not a purchase? I don't have my original receipt but it shouldn't be this hard to get a  copy!

No, it's the original purchase.

What? I just need a proof of purchase. The original they may have sent me by post or email cant be so valuable that there is only one in existence.
