I used to have a Doro 6520 phone with EE, it was a very basic phone, talk to people, they could talk to me, I could send a text, they could send a text and to be honest that was all I wanted from a mobile because I have a computer so if I want any gen on something I simply Google it. I happily do everything on line basically because I am disabled and my computer/internet is my life line.
Unfortunately, after three years service my Doro developed a problem and wouldn't except text messages and I couldn't send any, after reporting the problem to EE they said they would send me a new phone and of course I was expecting a Doro but no, I received a brand new Alcatel 1 "Oreo" (Go edition) and when I mentioned the name Alcatel to anyone I just got gasps of breath intake as no one had heard of the make. There must be plenty of these phones around because they look very nice and it appears to have all the bells and whistles, unfortunately, I haven't a clue how to set it up!! The online user guide may as well been in Chinese because it was 56 pages long. Now if I previously owned this type of phone previously it wouldn't have been a problem to understand as I would have gone through the trial and error stage and understanding the guide would have been easy, but for someone like me who has never owned an iphone before have someone at EE to instruct Alcatel owners how to set up and solve technical problems? People like me!!

Hi @MikeT2,
Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂
When you first turn on the phone, you should be welcomed with a series of messages that will help you setup the phone in stages.
As this is an Android phone you will be prompted to setup a Google account along the way, if you don't already have one.
Let me know how you get on and drop me a message if you get stuck at any particular point.
Thanks
James
