I was gifted Iphone 5s from a relative in UK, the phone has been in my wardrobe for years until now, when I decided to put a sim, but came to know that the device is carrier locked and it says Sim not supported during registration. I came to know that the Device is from EE (T mobile/Orange) carrier and when I put the imei into the EE device unlock website, it says, Sorry the phone isn't from EE.

I want to unlock this phone and use it as a portable hotspot

Are you able to ask your relative to call EE to speak with the unlock team?

@Hussain18 The device might have been from a MVNO network that uses the EE network for their customers.  You need to ask the person who gave it to you where they got it from.  

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

My relatives said that EE said "This imei is not recognized in their unlocking tool and you will have to contact the carrier from which your bought the phone from", I really dont know how to contact Orange carrier because the company is no more and is merged into EE, can something be done for this please

Did your relatives getting that message when trying to unlock the phone on our website at Unlock EE Device to Use with Another Network?

If it was, it would be best for them to give our team a call so they can look to get the phone unlocked for you. They are available on 150 from an EE mobile or 08000798586 from any other phone.

They contact the customer care team via phone multiple times

@Hussain18  EE would recognise the device if it was from Orange.  

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

They acknowledged it as an T-Mobile/orange device but they said they can't access orange database
