Hello Again.
After last years MONUMENTAL thread became the second most popular thread on the entire website, (Over 400k views & 6k replies) I thought I'd make another for this years iPhone release. 

Just like last year let's use this thread purely for Tracking Preorders and any related discussion around it.

Last year was a mess for EE, Let's hope things are different this year.

I’m fuming tbh, never pre-ordered before. Haven’t upgraded since 2020. We ordered 2x 16 PM 256 GB, one black, one desert. Ordered on 14th at about 9.30AM, order confirmed straight away. EE lady said, it’ll definitely be with us on the 20th, said they’d never had an issue on release day before. I was happy about that, considering I’m going away to see family on 27th - 30th so it needs to be here before then. Yesterday (20th), no update, ring in the morning and another lady said wait in all day it’ll definitely be with you by COP today. 17.00, still no update so I ring EE, ‘it could be with you today, but unlikely, it’s not on back order so should be with you in a couple days.’

Okay, great, play the waiting game then. Check if any updates today and it says:

Estimated delivery - 27th to 1st Oct

So thanks for that one EE/DPD, guess I’m gonna have to either cancel going away or reschedule the delivery which will likely be another week from then. Joke. 

They can blame Apple and stock issues all they like, but they lied to me multiple times and should know better than to give false promises. I’ll be ringing up CS today and asking for some sort of compensation. Doubt it’ll go anywhere, knowing how EE have been lately it’ll be a waste of time!

It looks like Apple did not send enough of the new phones out, this happens every year, even Apple have sold out, from what someone has written and they are saying it will be the middle of October, unfortunately, this is down to Apple not meeting the demands once again. Sorry your order was not processed due to volume of orders.

I pre-ordered on the 17th and was told I’d get my phone earliest by Friday but tracker is now saying between 4 oct- 8 oct. Just wondering whether the delivery time would be quicker for me to change to get it delivered to store? 

Well no actually the team didn’t even process my order as with thousands of others and rather than contact customers in advance I was left as were others and hours spent on hold and sat waiting for chat replies. More the fact I’ve seen others who were contact after their order was forgotten and reprocessed but loads of us forgotten about and no apology from EE ! That’s what’s irritated me 

@EmilyM93 , I understand your frustration, but I am only a customer like you, as most of us are here, with some staff, who like us, do not have access to accounts, no idea why they did not get processed.

I’m just venting! Very frustrating as I’d sold my current handset as well! 

@EmilyM93 , not a good idea to sell your current handset until you have actually received the new one. I always keep mine, so that if there is a problem, I have one to hand.

I doubt it.

Seems a lot of 4-8th, wonder if this is subject to change, stock depending. They might just be giving us a date to shut us up until then ha

ordered 14th am (after XKO online **bleep** up)

 

Expected delivery date:27 Sep 2024 - 01 Oct 2024

Ok, so after finding out my phone wasn’t picked yesterday and deciding to downgrade to a Pro instead of a max for next day delivery, I’m now inconvenienced once more.

After being given tracking that only worked via the web and seeing nothing in the app, I started to worry, especially when I hadn’t had a pin from DPD.

I called DPD and they advised the number they had for me was for my watch and of course watches can’t receive texts directly via that number.

After calling EE back, I’m told they can change the number but, the delivery has to move to tomorrow now. So by the time I receive it, I would have waited in for a 3rd day. I wouldn’t have minded the wait but, it’s the fact you can’t actually plan anything until you get your slot. At least I found out early enough in the day to not have wasted as much time as I did yesterday.

It’s amazing that my phone is in the depot, I can’t collect it, nor can DPD deliver today, even though it was on track for delivery today if I hadn’t raised the pin issue.
