Hello Again.
After last years MONUMENTAL thread became the second most popular thread on the entire website, (Over 400k views & 6k replies) I thought I'd make another for this years iPhone release.
Just like last year let's use this thread purely for Tracking Preorders and any related discussion around it.

hiya so i rang them this morning - no order on the account so the advisor has had to put it in for me again, looking at about 28 days for all pro max models. If you have XKO number and no tracking you need to call in

That is ridiculous. You got an order ID and a confirmation email yet there is no order on the account?
I got no tracking with my XKO so it looks like I’ll need to speak to them as well.

I managed to pre-order at 2:30pm on the Friday. Had to ring back up on the Sunday when I realised on my order confirmation that the agent ordered the wrong handset. Cancelled and reordered my new order number was 004094***
They told me I'd have a 4-week wait maximum but it probably depends which phone you ordered and whether it's on backorder or not. If they told you launch be cautiously optimistic 🙂

So I rang back today after reading some of the thread about xko order numbers not being processed etc. Got through to a particularly rude guy who told me 'rule number one, don't listen to idiots on the internet'. He assured me that my order had gone through and was processed successfully. I asked about being able to track it and he basically told me I was stupid for thinking I'd be able to track it before the courier sent out tracking information. But I should expect the device on launch day, my order was absolutely fine. So I guess I'll wait and see.

this is so confusing - being told different things left right and centre. Before i was unable to see the tracking with the xko number but now i am able to see- i was also given additional documents I had to sign which were not present upon ordering on the 13th originally. There definitely seems to be a flaw in the preorder system online - the advisor confirmed he could not see anything of the sort on my account and replaced the order for me and told me it was good to ring in and check else I’d have been waiting for something that was never due to arrive .

I just had a chat with EE as my xko number wasn’t bringing up any tracking information and getting an error and I was concerned due to the messages on here. They came back with this:
I have checked your account and it will start delivery after 20th September and it’s subject to availability.
Also, if you already placed the order then don’t need to worry, after 20th September you will get the order tracking information.
The order is in progress and we’re working to allocate the iPhone 16 pro max and once we have done this and the device is ready to ship, we will update you via SMS with the delivery details.
So in my case it does look to have gone through and I just can’t track the details until 20th.

EE's order tracker has always been hit and miss - not just with preorders, just isn't good in general / rarely works.
There are also about 3 versions of the order tracker online, and they all seem to only work in certain scenarios, so I wouldn't base anything on whether the online tracker is working. The one that seems to be working for me (with an 004 number) is the one you can access on the Mobile app.

I've cancelled. I had an xko reference for a 16 pro max (available in 14 days when I ordered) and a second xko reference for a watch (ultra 2 so in stock and supposedly immediately available). Neither had tracking and my order was showing on their systems as being over 28 days for dispatch, and the watch hadn't gone through at all. I wanted the phone for a holiday in October so threw my toys out of the pram and cancelled both (politely, demurely). Now very grumpy but not much I can do and they were incredibly unbothered.
