iPhone 15 & 15 Pro Preorder Tracking Thread

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to create a separate thread from the Discussion thread to specifically discuss EE Preorder tracking.

I think it's always helpful/reassuring to keep each other updated on the latest when it comes to this time of year, especially with EE's not-so-great track record on keeping customers informed about their preorders.

Hi everyone!

thought I'd share my thoughts/experience of this absolute nightmare of a preorder event!

Trying to do an anytime upgrade...

tried to preorder a 15PM at 1:30 on preorder day, couldn't get anywhere (constant logouts/redirects etc), eventually placed an order towards 6PM and got the "call us" email. Eventually got through to be told the whole system is buggered and I should call them the next day. Got the same runaround the next day and told to call on the Sunday.

Eventually put the order through but didn't realise the order had not actually gone through (concerning given I'd signed all the paperwork etc). Eventually got the order put through with the correct confirmation email on Tuesday 19th.

no idea when it'll be dispatched. The (helpful) person on the phone told me she was able to select "next day" so she thought that would mean launch day. I told her that was very unlikely!

My big issue with this utter bungle is the treatment of anytime upgrade customers. EE must know that they have a fairly substantial customer base of iPhone users who use their anytime upgrade privelege to get the latest phone (ideally) on launch day. The ordering systems were resolved fairly quickly, and I'm sympathetic to the idea that demand was high this year, but the trade-in system remaining down for most of the weekend meant anytime upgrade orders were unable to be processed for days, whilst EE continued to sell devices to other customers.

don't misunderstand me, I get that EE can sell devices to who it likes, but my concern is that because of this, anytime uograde customers will now show a start date for their contract that is far later than launch day (particularly if, like me, you are likely going to be waiting for weeks for a new device), which may have a knock on effect on orders for next years phones.

No idea what’s going on, ordered my 12 Pro Max black titanium at 12:56 on the 15th got the email with the xko number and had to call, got through straight away and the CS agent confirmed there were issues with the system but after a hold she confirmed she could get the order through, accepted the contract through the text link sent and got a text confirming my order at 13:17.

Since then nothing, no confirmation email with a 03 number.

I called EE on Saturday and went through security and the CS agent confirmed my order without me providing the xko number and confirmed that it’d be delivered on the 22nd although he didn’t sound that convincing on the last part.

Went through the chat on Sunday the CS agent gave me a 02 order number so I checked it and told them it wasn’t recognised, they replied that DPD would provide a tracking number by text once the phone is set for delivery.

Previously in this thread people have been advised there’s no stock of Pro Max’s in EE’s warehouse or that their order has been picked at the warehouse which sounds odd because all the Pro Max’s in the UK will be sitting in Syncreon’s warehouse right now, order from Apple its with Syncreon, Curry’s Syncreon, EE Syncreon, that’s where DPD pick them up and how Apple stops stock slipping out early.

Honestly no idea what’s going on at the moment, never had this sense of doubt about what’s happening with an order before, EE’s process is clearly a shambles so I’ll just have to keep my fingers crossed I get a text from DPD tomorrow or notification through the app.

Back to Apple for the next time!

Confirmed order on Saturday morning after receiving an email .

Received order number by email on Sunday morning with 033 number .

Spoke with char right now and they confirmed my order has been picked but my app and tracking hasn’t updated yet .

This year was the most stressful one in terms of pre-ordering on day 1.  I was holding on the phone for customer services for a total of 3 hours after placing two online orders that didn't quite go through.  But after the 3 hour wait, at around 4pm I was told on the phone I would receive the 15 PM on the 22nd.  By the way the agent on the phone told me that none of the online orders were going through which is why they had 900 people on hold on the phones at that time waiting to place orders.

But yes, none of the online orders were saying "22 Sep" as the delivery date.  Most of them said 14 days and some longer.  If it doesn't arrive on the 22nd, it will be the first year in at least 5 years that I haven't received it from EE on launch day.

I love EE as a network. i Have had times when customer support has been amazing and times when it hasn't been.

Say what you like the actual network is amazing i have never had a connection probs.

I have been pre-ordering phones for years,(Samsung) Not had a problem either getting through and at times had them a day before release day. but My first iPhone pre-order and what a mess.

The first attempt was at 12.55 on the Friday. got in a 1 hour queue. finally got through. and was told we can try and process your order but our systems are slow atm. we then proceeded for another 20 minutes, then the person on the phone said "all of our systems have just gone down". she then said she would ring me back once they were up. (she never did ) After an hour of waiting, i rang up again this time a 2-hour queue. got through. Spent a few mins going through security ect then i said i wanted to pre-order the iPhone 15 Pro Max. That was fine, and then we started to do that. and bam. anytime upgrades system went down. I was told it's been overwhelmed both in the uptake of the iPhone 15 pro max. he said he was told the system would not be back up until tomorrow. At this time I'm trying to be polite it's not their fault, He said he would call me the next morning.

Saturday morning he did indeed ring me it went through fine. (iPhone 15 pro max 1tb titanium black) he reassured me there was plenty of stock. I resieved an email instantly with a 03 number no txt message though.

Considering  EE is the top provider in the UK. what a complete and utter shambles.

Mine still says "Expected delivery date:Awaiting confirmation"

After reading posts on here i rang up. was told after 2 30-minute wait times. They cannot see any status of orders if it is picked or not. They cannot even see on their systems any possible ETAs. was basically told you will get it when you do. Keep an eye on dpd txt.

It is not a real-life problem it's only a phone.
