iPad Locked to EE, but EE saying it’s not an EE device

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone with experience of EE/Apple device unlocking can help.

I have an iPad Pro 12.9” (A2232, Wi-Fi + Cellular, 256GB). I recently tried to sell it to CeX, but their checks showed that the iPad is network locked to EE.

I contacted EE and tried their official online unlock checker using the IMEI, but it says “This isn’t an EE device”, so it won’t allow me to submit an unlock request.

I’ve since paid for an independent Apple/GSX carrier check, which has confirmed:

  • Carrier: 2103 – UK EE iPad P10x Policy
  • SIM-lock status: Locked

So it appears to be definitely locked to an EE policy, despite EE’s own system not recognising the IMEI.

I’ve spoken to EE already, but they haven’t been able to unlock it because their system says the device isn’t an EE device.

Has anyone encountered this “2103 – UK EE iPad P10x Policy” before, or know how to get one of these iPads manually unlocked through EE?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has successfully resolved a similar EE iPad unlocking issue.

[Mod edit - removed IMEI, please don't share any personal information on these public forums]

You don't need to pay for anyone to check the lock status, just go to...

settings / general / about / scroll down to Network Provider Lock

Where did you buy the iPad from?
