Unlocking device

Hi there,

I’m not able to check whether my device is unlocked or not on the EE website.

I am travelling abroad and have paid for an E-Sim to be activated, however I am not able to add the E-Sim to my phone as the phone seems to be locked.
Could someone help with:

1- checking whether my device is unlocked or not.

2- if not unlocked, unlocking it for me so I can add my eSim.

thanks in advance!

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

I bought it through EE, it was under a 24 month contract.

@charlieknowles1   As it’s an Apple device it should be unlock already.  Just text UNOCK to 150 or open the settings app and click General>About and scroll down to NETWORK PROVIDER LOCK. If it says no sim restrictions then it’s unlocked.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thank you @Chris_B

The Sim says it’s unlocked but when I try to add my E-Sim there is still a problem and it can’t activate.
it says ‘cannot connect E-Sim try again or contact the network provider for assistance’

Is that EE or the E-Sim company?

thanks for your help!

But when? Date matters not length of contract.
