New iPhone - lost telephone number in data transfer

Just moved from IPhone 13 to 15.  completed data transfer and now have no telephone number and unable to make calls or send messages on new or old phone.  
Does anyone have my ideas.

Do you have a SIM card in either the new phone or old phone? 

Is it an eSIM or physical SIM?
