New contract v Upgrade

I can get a new 12 PRO FOR £53 per month and £50 initial payment

if I go to upgrade as I have an EE contract it’s at least £65 per month and £230 initial payment 

 

where is the sense in that, been with EE years and it’s nee contracts that are getting better deals, surely that’s illegal

@Bodgeit1   Nothing illegal about it.  

 

But where are you seeing this £53 per month contract because the lowest one I can find is £57 and that includes a trade in of an iPhone 7, 7+, 8 or 8+  And £50 upfront.  The next cheapest is £59 with no trade in and £100 upfront.    And they are HERE
