How are you supposed to activate sim on unactivated phone?

Traded in my iphone 14 for iphone 16 in store. Got given a new sim card as i had a esim in my 14?

Got home switched on new 16 went through the steps to get to the sign into icloud.....but i cant get 2fa code - locked out for 24 hours.

 

Now its been 24 hours - i try again and now i have to wait 3 days!

 

So as new phone that i cant use for 4 days - then what happens??? As i still cant get a 2fa code to activate my phone and then register my sim?!!

Welcome to the community,

Hope you got a replacement SIM card, you should have put it in in the store and made sure that it would activate, why did you not do that?

You could try ringing customer service, either by using another phone or by using Skype for free, see my signature, they shouldd be able to activate it.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

@WalkerCrew  Put your sim in a different phone.  

   EEs not responsible for your iCloud account and the 2FA you have with it.    Do you have any other Apple devices that are register to your Apple account ?
