I wouldn't have thought so. When using IMessage or emailing (these are 2 diff things) you're using inclusive data from your allowance.

It's only if you are sending an ordinary text (SMS) to outside UK will you be charged.

yah but im using imsg to text them but with their icloud email not their number

I can't understand what you are doing but sending a text (SMS) to an email addy will also be chargeable as it's converted into an MMS. Maybe that's what you mean that sending an iMessage to an email addy is converted into sending a text (SMS) to an email addy.

Sending an iMessage to an iCloud email address will all go ve the Apple idata network, so should not be chargeable..

You can check by looking at your billing on MYEE or comparing your credit if you are on PAYG.

iMessages only go via SMS if not going to another Apple device.

That's what I thought.

@Amerlia  a iMessage is an iMessage and goes via data if that text message bubble goes green it’s a text message.  I iMessage someone in the US and never get charged and this could via their email address they use or their phone number it makes no difference.

@Amerlia : Why are you asking? To look at it another way, if you know that it is free to do what your are doing to an email addy of a user in UK, then it must also be free to an email addy of a user outside UK, cuz data knows no country boundaries.
