Contract sim

Hello I have a unlocked iPhone 13 with a contract sim 

 want to buy a new iPhone unlocked and use my present sim

The EE shop says this is not possible and a new replacement sim at higher cost is required 

is this correct

@Neallye10 : All EE contract phones come with their own SIM & plan. Better to buy a SIM-Free phone in the marketplace or even Apple & continue using your existing SIM.
