This might seem a bit long winded but I hope someone can help.
I currently have a BT/EE Broadband Account for my home phone / internet /TV Pro etc etc and I use Tesco Mobile for my iPhone SIM only. My wife wants to buy me an Apple Cellular Watch as an anniversary present , but here is my dilemma.
My current basic Sim Only provider (Tesco Mobile) for my iPhone does not support Apple Watches. As I am a BT Broadband customer, I have been offered a very favourable Sim Only contract via my BT/EE broadband account for my iPhone, which offers double data allowance for £2 more than I pay Tesco. So far, so good.
But I have been told that I would not be able to use a new BT SIM only contract account for a new Apple Watch because my account number with BT would not be recognised by EE, and would therefore need a dedicated EE account for both iPhone and Apple Watch, even though BT and EE are the same company.
I have no idea how true this is but I have looked at EE Sim Only contracts for my iPhone but they are nearly double the price of the BT/EE offer and if I add the EE Apple Watch plan which is £7 per month, it brings my monthly plan payments to £27 per month which is 4 times the amount I currently pay with Tesco.
so my question is, if I set up a new Sim Only contract via my BT/EE broadband account, will I then be able to then add an Apple Watch contract to it later when I get the watch or does a new account for both iPhone and Apple Watch have to go through a brand new EE account. If not, then I guess my only other option is not to go cellular with the Apple Watch. Obviously I don’t want to take up the 24 month BT/EE offer and then find I cannot add the Apple Watch to it. Thanks in advance for any advice v

Hi @ML2024,
Thanks for visiting the EE Community 🙂
In order to setup a cellular plan with us for the Apple Watch it would require that the number you are setting it up is on the same EE account.
It sounds like there could have been some confusion, the SIM onlys available on the BT website are with EE and would be on an EE billing account, which you could then add the watch to. BT Mobile does not take new customers but with being a BT Broadband customer you can get exclusive EE mobile deals.
For example those linked here available on EE when you are a BT Broadband customer SIM Only Deals | Compare SIMO Plans & Contracts | BT Mobile
Are those the type of plans you had been discussing originally? Those would all be for an EE account which you would be able to add a watch plan to.
