Ive been the subject to the warranty scam, i thought something didnt seem right and thought i would google EE scams and came across this forum last post was in 2023.. its still happening tho.
had sent my phone off direct to samsung 3 weeks ago fold 5 from black screen. took a week and got it back, two weeks later same problem again. at this point really frustrated as no phone again for work and lost everything as i couldn't back it up.
the screen was brad new 2 weeks old. took into the reading store as they could repair quicker then sending it back directly.
the filled out the repair booking form, general wear noted on phone, had a call later in evening saying they had called samsung and samsung have said its out of warranty due to chip in corner of phone. its always been in a case and no chips on the new 2 week old screen. They wanted £300 for repair.
spoke to samsung and EE have sent a report to them stating that there was stab mark on the screen leading to the damage.
This is not true, samsung have been great they have advised me to collect phone and send it back to them as they will repair but ive taken a day from work to drive over an hour to a store they use for there warranty to have this happen. ive now got to get my husband to drive back collect phone to then organise samsung to pick up which is now going to take a total of maybe 3 weeks now before i get a phone back.
after reading comments on other threads now worried EE might have damaged my phone. will update tomorrow once we get it back. but absolutely no way there is any damage to a new screen. they had said they had 3 in already of the fold phone with same issue that day.
and what was suspicious was a customer coming over to see my fault and she said she had same and was quote £300 as not under warranty i had tld her mine was fixed 2 weeks ago and covers so thought this was odd. most definitely something EE is doing to scam money out of customers. Please avoid at all cost!!!

@NicolaThorne24 if you had it repaired by Samsung originally why are you not going back directly to Samsung in the first place . It’s their warranty on that screen that they replaced.

Hello,
EE is an authorised repair centre from Samsung, Apple, Google and few other brands.
However, the main issue is that EE repair centre finds something not to honour the warranty claim.
That's what the poster is trying to convey.
If you want quick repair like same day, EE is the best possible solution.
Thank you.
