Unlocking my Android phone

I am trying to unlock my android phone so I can use an esim whilst abroad. 

I have successfully entered my imei number and got to the next screen which says, here's your code to unlock the phone, but the box is blank. 

I changed browsers, but got the same result.

Hi there,

Sorry for the issues you're experiencing with unlocking your device. You can try again later or from a different device. If you're still experiencing issues, call EE from 150 from your phone (or from another phone call 0800 079 8586 from another phone/or Skype). Alternatively, you can pop into any EE store near you and then they can help unlock your device.

 

What if my device is locked from another carrier (such as 02, Virgin Media, etc).

You'll need to follow their unlock guide instead of EE's. They'll be able to assist you. You can also take it to the carrier's store and ask for assistance there. They will help you unlock your device.

 

Links & numbers to call for unlocking your device on known carriers.

Some of these carriers make you pay for unlocking your device, so you'll have to pay in order to unlock it on some carriers. However, on EE it is free entirely to unlock your device.

O2

  • 202 (for Pay Monthly)
  • 4445 (for Pay As You Go)

Virgin Media

  • Your device should already be unlocked
  • If it's locked, you'll need to visit their website

Tesco

Vodafone

The unlocking code was eventually sent via email.

So I wil try completing the process with another device.
