SIM 1 not allowed Sony

Gina_D

I'm currently traveling and I'm in Australia. I got the roaming pass and everything has been working fine. Now I have got a message saying SIM 1 not allowed and I am unable to call or go on the internet other than WiFi.  I can't phone EE and it won't let me call over WiFi. I've restarted, cleaned the SIM, put on aeroplane mode. I am away for another 2 weeks... Any suggestions?

Thanks for trying @Leononeill

Are you able to try the SIM in a different phone to see if the problem follows the SIM card?

Leanne.

Hmm.

The SIM is working in a borrowed phone. (Samsung)

And good news.

The SIM is now still be working when transferred back to my Sony.

Thanks.

I hope this may work for others with the same issue.

Thank you @Leononeill

If the SIM is working in another phone, this indicates a problem with your phone recognising the SIM card.

If you have backed up all your data it might be worth trying a factory reset, this will wipe the phone data so please make sure this is fully backed up.

Or, please get in touch with our technical support guides who can run through some troubleshooting with you and let you know what is needed.

Thanks.

Leanne.
