S10 locked after entering unlock code too many times

Hello

Hoping somebody may be able to help please. I sold an out of contract Samsung S10 and provided the unlock code I'd been given by EE (from entering the IMEI code into the website) but the buyer has tried it too many times and the device is now saying it's locked. How do they now unlock it please? I tried contacting EE via 150 but they just text me a guide on how to get the original unlock code.

I'd be very grateful for any assistance, thank you.

@PalmaViolet  The device now wants a MCK code to unfreeze it.  This should be the last 8 digits of the unlock code.

Silly question but did you sell the device locked or unlocked ?

please have a read of THIS

Thank you, I'll ask them to try that.

I told them it was likely locked to EE as we've had it a few years but that it could be unlocked as per the EE website.

@PalmaViolet   You should of left it there and not got involved with trying to help unlock it as you sold it locked. the purchaser could’ve requested the unlock code themselves from EE.

I was trying to be helpful 😢
