I'm posting this to raise awareness to this issue once again.
There is no option on EE to toggle the preferred network type to 4G. On other UK carriers this is fine, however. This is purely a limitation set by EE.
As the modem in the 6P is lacking and causing battery issues, this is a pretty poor show.
EE, please update this.
(There is a workaround, by inputting *#*#4636#*#* into your dialler and selecting LTE/WCDMA. But we shouldn't have to be doing that, especially on a Pixel phone.)

Hi @MattCK
Welcome to the community.
Is your software full up to date? Do you know if other EE users are able to toggle 5G off in their menus?

Hi Chris,
Yes everything is up to date. This is an issue that has been mentioned on this forum since the phones release. It's obviously triggered as part of the carrier services package that's tailored to EE. Like I said, this option is not missing on other UK networks.

Thanks for posting about this and for bringing it to our attention, @MattCK.
I'll feed this back to our device team.

Any update on this? I see the operator settings don't seem to have been updated since before the phones launch (30/09/2021 ver)
