I recently got a Samsung Galaxy A22 5g as an upgrade and when trying to set up my phone it checks for updates then "This device belongs to your organisation" appears on the screen. I can't navigate back and if I click next I'm asked for log in details for said organisation. It's as if they've sent me a phone already set up for a workplace. Anyway I can't continue set up. Spent ages onto support last night who suggested leaving the organisation in settings but I cant get passed that screen to continue set up never mind get into settings, they then suggested I take it into a shop so they can see it which is understandable but just wondered if anyone else has had this issue and how quickly it was resolved. Or if there is anything I can do now to get my phone up and running.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

I was on to customer services and was to go through to returns but got a recorded message saying the office closed at 5 and the call ended. I'll try again tomorrow.

That's annoying, a business has setup the phones IMEI into their MDM, thus locking the device to them as soon as it senses internet access
If you don't connect it to wifi/data it can't speak to the server, so you can use the phone as a phone until the return pack reaches you

It doesnt let me proceed set up without connecting to the internet otherwise I would have continued set up and been able to go to settings to choose the option to leave the organisation. I tried to skip it but it wouldn't allow it. I can't use the phone at all. I will call them tomorrow and hopefully get it resolved
