YVM607 - Nothing has changed

Hello

I feel I'm having nothing but trouble at the moment. The latest one is that the box has decided that it can't play content because it can't authenticate it from my TV

It's in the same splitter that it's been in for two years and this has never happened.

What causes this? Surely the solution isn't literally to not have anything else plugged into the TV except the box.

Have you tried turning everything off and on again?

Or checking all the cable connections are still tight?

The TV Box needs to HDCP connect to the TV - i.e. secure an encrypted channel to the TV.  If it can't do this, we're not allowed to let the content play (otherwise it's easy to pirate).

But I'm not pirating. I want to watch a service that I've paid for. It's always fun to see companies assuming I'm a criminal!

Unfortunately the criminals make everyone suffer. We have no way to differentiate genuine use from attempted piracy.

I can understand why people do stream things illegally.

I only really want about three things and I can't pay for them separately. Instead, I have to have tons random channels I don't want to get to the three apps and sports channels that I actually use.

Added to the constant problems with the system dropping out randomly, resetting for no obvious reason and the fact that I can't plug it into a matrix so I can play a Games Console on the same TV means you start to wonder what the point is.
