Remote volume control

Any ideas why my new remote works apart from the volume controls. My old BT remote works ok, but I want to use my new remote and not both.

I’ve don’t that but even at 100% the sound isn’t very loud. I still have to use the TV remote.

Hi. Just setup ee tv the remote simply will not pair to my hisense tv. Done all the home plus 9 stuff, no dice. Any ideas?

Are you seeing the light around the EE icon flash 3 times when you are holding down those buttons? Have you checked your settings within Settings> Bluetooth remote> Control volume and source ?

Yes, done all that. The light flashes 3 times (supposedly aqua but it looks more white to me). It is paired to the box, as it appears on Bluetooth devices and does the volume for the box, but switching it over to tv from set top box it doesn't respond at all.

My skyq had a more complicated pairing setup to the tv, but it did work. This is really annoying, as i have to keep the 2 remotes handy, the hisense tv and ee one, so that when the tv does that all annoying "energy saving timeout switch off" thing I can press a button on the hisense remote to knock it off. With the tv properly paired to the ee box remote I can just  do all this on the 1 handset.

@W20ADM Presumably the box is plugged directly into the TV and not a soundbar or anything? And the HDMI slot on your TV is HDMI CEC capable and you have that turned on in the TV settings? As that is how the remote speaks to the TV to take control so it does need to be capable and turned on.

If it is HDMI CEC capable but not linking up it may be the TV is not currently supported unfortunately.

Direct to tv yes. And I'll double check the settings but I think they are all as should.

Can I just check that what I am trying to do here is actually possible. On my skyq, you could link the IR signal so the sky remote actually adjusted the TV's volume, like as if you had pressed the volume button on the tv and not the box remote (the actual tv's volume graphic displayed). Im reading that the ee box doesn't have such an ability to pair up using the IR signal, that this can never directly control the tv's volume. I.e. there will always be separation between the tvs actually volume control and the tv pro box's volume control?

That cec setting was turned off on my tv, but turning it on hasn't allowed anything to really change.

@W20ADM The TV Box remote control pairs with the TV via the TV Box - the TV Box asks the TV what it is, and then tells the remote control what mode it should run in.  Once paired, the remote then sends IR commands to your TV, the same as the Sky box did.

The problem is where TVs don't identify themselves correctly, or they identify themselves as something that has many potential IR command sets - the EE TV remote will use the most common one.

If you've only just turned on CEC then reset the remote again.  After reset, the first time you press a button on the remote it'll tell the TV Box to ask the TV what it is.
