We have returned our box so many times now I'm at my wits end. But we can only get it to pick up Calendar, our local news station on ITV1 , if we're on the HD channels we get Granada, which is nothing to do with us locally.  Can anyone help? We need local news station!!! 🙏 getting desperate now

@maz8462

There are various limitations that produce situations like this.

I’m going to deduce that you are operating a Box Pro in Aerial Mode, as that is the only EETV setup that will allow you to have itv1 in either SD (channel 3) or HD (channel 103). True?

What I’d like you to do is

(i) look at the channels above 732 to see if any alternate itv1 channels are listed there, and what news they get, and

(ii) retune your TV and see what itv1 channels you get with what news, including above 732,

and report back.

@maz8462

I don't have a Pro box but assume that it works as my T4000.

When you retune do you get the option of selecting the area you want? In my case I get Greater London and South East and choose Greater London and then get BBC & ITV London for both SD & HD.

@maz8462

The idea was to see if your TV did the same thing as the Box Pro.

If so, the problem is to do with the transmitters in your area, and it’s not just a Box Pro quirk.

If not, there may be a Box Pro quirk.

Is Yorkshire synonymous with Calendar? Being a soft Southerner, I’m not familiar with what stuff is called up there - so I’m still not clear if the TV check exonerates the Box Pro, entirely, partially, or not all 😢

Hi midnight voice, think I've pressed the wrong button!!

Yes, Yorkshire area  is  calendar, so sorry. And there is no solution. We're still struggling with granada on hd channels.

Hi Timbo,

Yes we get the option. And chose the leeds, Yorkshire area. Which works on all stations, that are not hd, these stay as granada! It's silly!

You can press it again, and it will un-solution it.

Especially if you wanted to choose somebody else’s post as the solution….. 😛

I think it is the case that on Freeview, ITV only broadcast a few regions in HD, and I believe everyone who gets the Yorkshire region in SD gets the Granada region in HD. Using the aerial input there is no way around that.

The ITV regions are correct on other platforms. I'm not in your area, but I would imagine that using the internet mode rather than the aerial mode will give you Yorkshire in HD [where I am I can get Anglia West HD in internet mode, a region also not on Freeview HD]. There are of course other pros and cons of aerial mode vs internet mode.
