Issue with Champions League games on TNT HDR Ultimate Channel 465

I've waited until today to post as it's the first time I've been in to watch a PL game on TNT for a while. PL games looks absolutely great on channel 465 but Champions League games look really strange. The colours seem really over saturated and the TV seems to be constantly "processing" to try and correct. One really glaring thing is the white pitch lines and markings look almost dayglo yellow rather than white.

I have a Samsung OLED and all other HDR content (native apps, fire stick etc.) looks absolutely fine, it only seems to be Champions League games.

I'm assuming this is stemming from the UEFA broadcast but just wondering if anyone has noticed similar issues?

Hi @lufc87

This is always an issue with steams from other networks. It depends on the TV package the provider buys to show as they tend to be hit and miss. Get the same issue with the Rugby. Have you tried watching on the app.

Thanks

I believe TNT Sports are the host broadcaster for the majority  (ie the UK home matches) of 4K HDR UEFA Champions League games broadcast on the 465 EETV channel..  It is rare these days that they take 4K feeds from overseas broadcasters as they seem reluctant to bear the additional expense. The full 4K match replays should still be available on the discovery+ app so you could compare.

Since TNT took over the coverage from BT Sport picture quality on the ultimate channel has significantly reduced. You only have to watch a game on Sky Sports UHD to see how poor the picture is on the Ultimate channel.

To me the image is heavily compressed and lacking any kind of clarity and sharpness you’d expect from a 4K broadcast. It’s almost like the camera lens needs a wipe. But I’d imagine it’s a cost saving measure.
