Internet Channels

Hi,

Just waiting for my service to go live, but have received the box today. Gone to set it up, but it's saying that there are 0 channels, which is fine - I can wait for it to go live.

However, when doing a bit of research to find if this was the reason, I read that I would need an aerial plugged in to get my Freeview channels - but this was something I checked several times when ordering over the phone - as I'm going to be moving from Sky Stream and don't have an aerial to plug in.

Can someone please confirm with I will be able to view TV without an aerial (which I was told I could).

The TV Box Pro has the option for aerial or internet mode - you can see the differences here: https://ee.co.uk/help/tv-sport/manage-use/modes

The list of channels in internet mode is reduced (see the channel guide link on that page), and you'll also be restricted on your ability to skip ads on ITV.

@kennybase , yes you will, as they go over the internet, as I understand.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Thanks - that's ok then. I just started to worry as I read that channels like "Dave" or whatever it's called now, are not internet based - but maybe that was just an outdated page.

@kennybase , not sure about that, as I do not have the EETV as I am still on a legacy internet with them.

@Chris_B  might know the answer for you, as he has it.

Thanks for that link @DarrenDev

I guess I'm just giong to have to wait and see if what I was sold is what I'm getting - but the way the whole process has gone for me from the person I spoke to in sales, I'm not hopeful 😞

HI @kennybase had a quick check and see your activation Status in Pending so should be updating soon (commit date is by 25th July) - Have you received and connected your Smart Hub?

Regarding channels, you don't need an an aerial plugged in to get Freeview PSB channels (e.g. BBC, ITV and C4), and Big Entertainment package channels like Gold are in the EPG or accessible via the Now app, however UKTV channels (U&DaveJaVu, U&Yesterday) are not carried on broadband.

You can see the full range of channel availability on the Channel guide here .

thanks,

David

Hi @David-TVTech

Thanks for checking that. I got the Hub this morning as well but not yet connected it as thought I should wait until the go live date. Do you know if I can connect it now and all will still work with my Sky BB that I'm leaving?

@kennybase you need to wait till your broadband has been switched over and then connect your TV box of choice and set it up. The channels should then appear.
