Disney+ now available in Search on EE TV

Finding something to watch just got even easier. You can now use Search on your EE TV box to find films and TV shows available on Disney+.
From blockbuster movies and brand new originals to exclusive hit shows from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, Hulu, National Geographic and FX, a lifetime of great stories awaits. Simply search for a title, actor or genre and we'll show you where it's available to watch, helping you spend less time browsing and more time enjoying your favourite entertainment. *

Live sport, made easier

You'll now see selected live events from Prime Video promoted directly on your EE TV Home screen. Set a reminder before the event starts, then launch straight into the action when it's live.

Thank you  - when it says

Simply search for a title, actor or genre and we'll show you where it's available to watch, helping you spend less time browsing and more time enjoying your favourite entertainment.

I'm unclear how genre search can be made on EETV Youview boxes ?

Hi @zulu17,

Thanks for your question.

This feature is currently only available via the EE TV app on the Apple TV 4K box.

Given that EE TV  base subscription plans include one or more of NOW ,TNT sports via HBO MAX , Netflix would it not be sensible to have each of those three apps prominently  featured on the top rail allongside the PSB apps and one other rotating app.

If i understand correctly the welcome  Netflix recommendations only apply to  the top row only and  NETFLIX  does not have a permanent  only an occasional presence on the top rail.

@zulu17 I thought you were normally the person explaining prominence rules to others? We don't get to dictate apps in the top rail like that.

The full app list is just below though anyway. They're always visible on the front screen.

Only the top rail apps get their suggested/promoted content  shown on the top of the home page. So if Netflix is on top rail you get your recommended programme as the home page rotates through the top rail.. if it is not in there but in the lower general order  you don't you jusrt have the opruon to ipen the aop itself. Retaining the PSB apps on the top rail in their proscribed order preserves their prominence you juat have a few apps more that follow.

As it stands the improvement added to provide Netflix recommendations seems to going to  be  little used which is a shame

Maybe BTTV could have a seperate distinctive  home page when it launches.

Just ideas.

When you say that the Netflix suggests are little used, I can only assume this is based on your personal experience?  50% of boxes were enabled for this feature weeks ahead of launch to test it, and the difference in user behaviour was significant.  Whether other apps now choose to also implement this feature is down to them.

perhaps i have not explained it very well .... a useful feature is available but  *** Applies to top row only. -- So only if Netfliz is featured on the top rail is it available.  Most of the time Netflix is not in the top rail so the feature is not used most of the time.

My idea is that the apps that EETV feature as core apps in their base packages should appear in the top rail after the PSB apps so the feature is available more often.
