EE tv remote lost

Mikey60

Hi people. I wonder if anyone has had this issue and been able to resolve it.  My toddler has somehow managed to lose the remote control for the TV box. I know you can use the app to control it, but the problem is that it appears to be necessary to have to original remote to be able to pair the phone to the tv box. Is there a workaround?

TIA

Pairing the EE TV app with the TV Box only allows you to remotely set recordings - it doesn't allow you to use it as a remote control.

If you have the TV Box Pro then you can press the button on the right hand side of the box, and it'll send a command to the remote control to make it beep (if within Bluetooth range).

Otherwise, you can buy replacement remotes online.  This one will work with all EE TV models (except Apple TV):

Hi @Mikey60

You'll need to speak to EE CS on 150 and maybe charged for another, but I guarantee when it arrives you'll find the original 😁.

Thanks

As @DarrenDev  mentioned th e Find my Remote  feature on the Box Pro  is worth trying  If your toddler is likely to have taken it out of bluetooth range into another room you could potentially  take the Box Pro into the likely rooms plug it in and see if it finds it.

In theory USB keyboards should be useable

Also if you have any old Humax   brand remotes lying around they may operate some of the functions of the box.

In the meantime, other remotes do work the box. I've previously used both a OneForAll remote and also an LG TV remote with an EE TV Box Pro.
