EE TV Box Pro buffering with aerial connection

I've noticed the box doesn't seem to recover very well from a brief loss in signal. I'm using an aerial connection which is occasionally affected by passing aircraft, causing the signal to glitch for a second or two. This wasn't really an issue with the old BT box but the new box seems to get into a state where it never manages to properly catch up with live TV and continually stutters every 5 seconds, until the channel is changed. I could try using the internet for Freeview channels but would really expect the box to be able to recover from a minor loss in signal.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi @RonnyBatty

It's strange the EE box is having this issue. Are you able to try resetting the box as the first step to test?

Ali

Have tried resetting the box a few times and it hasn't fixed the problem. It only seems to happen every 2 or 3 hours and can be fixed by pausing and resuming live TV, so it's not a huge problem. I've tried leaving it for 5-10 minutes to see if it manages to recover but always needs a manual fix.

Thanks for the extra info @RonnyBatty

Have you tried it before with an internet connection just to rule out if it is an aerial only issue?

Lesley

Have just done a factory reset and now using the internet connection instead of the aerial. Will keep an eye on it for the next couple of days and report back 👍

Been a few days now since switching from the aerial to the internet for TV. It's definitely a significant improvement as it no longer gets stuck in the buffering state, but I'm still noticing slight pauses every 15-30 mins. This is only really noticeable when watching programmes with a fixed camera position, like football matches, so it's not a major issue.

My TV box is connecting to the router over wireless so that could be the cause but it's only about 10 feet away and only has two other devices connected.

Thanks for the update here @RonnyBatty.

I'm glad to hear that you've noticed an improvement!

I've got a similar set up to what you've described and I've not noticed any pauses like you've mentioned, but I don't watch a huge amount of live sport.

If you have a cable long enough you could give a wired connection a try just so we can rule out the Wireless connection being the issue here, and we can potentially look from there.
