Roaming Charges

I seem to have been charged over £4 each day I was on holiday for data usage.
Yet the text I got through from EE when I arrived on holiday was that data would cost £2 a day.
Why is this?

You've not said which country you were roaming in, but it sounds like you were within the EU where roaming is a flat £2.59/day - this is not just data, but voice calls & texts.

I don't know of any country where data-specifically is £2/day.
