What's the deal with this Cyber Security?

Hey, I just got the Cyber Security for my EE Broadband and as you can see from the screenshots, it's like all my available licences are already linked to other people's devices. I had one set up and today the app says I don't have an active subscription, it's like someone removed me from one of the available devices, like I've had to do with mine to get an active subscription, I had to remove it from one device EVEN THOUGH I'VE NEVER ADDED ANY DEVICE TO ANY OF THE 'ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTIONS'.

ITS LIKE IM SHARING MY OWN CYBER SECURITY WITH OTHER PEOPLE AS THE DEVICES LIKE AN IPHONE THAT ARE ON MY OWN APPARENT SUBSCRIPTION -- I DONT OWN AN APPLE DEVICE AT ALL. SO WHY AM I LOGGING INTO MY OWN ACCOUNT AND SEEING THESE DEVICES ON IT?

THIS IS NOT FEELING SECURE AT ALL!? ESPECIALLY FOR SECURITY SOFTWARE!!

I only need 5 devices so had to get the Cyber Security that covers 15 devices, so only 5 licences should be in use but all of them are to devices I DO NOT OWN.

What on earth is going on here? This is not secure. These devices like I've said don't have anything to do with me so why are they showing up when I log into my own account?

Hi @collielad-jaxon,

We will need to look into this and find out what's happening.

Can you reply back to the private message that I'm sending you?

Thank you
DanielS

This needs reporting to Ofcom in my opinion? This is a big security breach

Hi

I spoke to there cyber security team and they admitted there are issues with the EE cyber security but he did not clearly state what that was. He informed me they are working on it and they hope to have it fixed by March.Thats no comfort to me as a customer There is clearly something wrong with the product they are selling.

Also I'm now thinking have they been subject to a cyber attack(I have no evidence of this)  because of all the issues there are having with various add ons such as EE cyber and wifi control. Some of the advisers I've spoken to have stated issues I've suffered is down too the amalgamation of two systems, which has not worked,if that is the case why is it taking so long to sort the problem out.Are they cutting corners and as a result the the customer are the ones suffering with no redress.Sorry for the rant.As you can gather I'm a dissatisfied customer with the service I've received.

Yeah, they're saying it's not a security issue but a technical issue. Well considering I am thrown off my security software at will, I consider that a security issue! Leaves my device unprotected doesn't it!

I was given £15 to cover the cost of the cyber security for next 3 months, plus a £20 goodwill gesture. That's all good, but I'd rather have security software for my device!

I've got the same issues ..

Download the EE cyber security app ect after the sales person in EE kept recommending it.. Installed it on 4 devices in my household.. then today received a notification saying I did not have an active subscription as all 15 of my subscriptions had been used ..logged onto the  EE app and security app and and lo and behold all my subscriptions were active . Went through the list and there was Iphones , Google phones , even some phone manufacturers I had never heard of .. so started deleting the unknown phones and literally as I was refreshing another phone was connected..

Called EE customer support and they were even shocked as they could see the phones adding as I was talking to them.. but unfortunately they had no idea how to resolve the issue other than to contact Norton customer support,  (which were even more unable to help with the issue )

Considering this is supposed to be a security system how can there be such a massive security breech.

Have currently deleted the app of all the phones , except main one as I will not delete it as I have an active subscription

Yeah, the frontline technical help or customer service agents won't have a clue about how to fix this, it's a big programming error and something I most certainly don't feel comfortable using. Thankfully I still have an active Norton subscription for the next 59 days through my new gaming pc, but I don't have any security on my phone apart from the phones own security. Which is why I want Norton on my phone! We have exactly the same issue and no doubt 100% of customers will be experiencing the same issue as we are!

I hope they've applied the same credits to your account as they did mine!?

Yeah I've deleted the app from my phone as well as I'm just not 100% convinced there's no vulnerability in the software that some hacker can take advantage of since it seems accounts are linked! I am going to report this to Ofcom
