Steven from Wigan

I’ve gotten a call from Steven from Wigan. They told me to check the official numbers of ee and it was right but I’m still not sure if it’s legit so I’m asking if anyone knows if it’s actually from ee or if it’s a scam.

Chances are it is indeed a scam.

Forging a caller ID is trivial with modern VoIP systems so just because the caller has set theirs to match a number belonging to EE doesn't mean it IS EE. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that only someone trying to look legit when they're not would get you to check their CLID.

I'd also note that in some cases, genuine outbound calls from EE C/S are preceded by a text message confirming "we will call you in a few minutes" or words to that effect.

I agree that anyone proactively drawing attention to the CLID probably has ulterior motives for doing so.
