I visited an EE store last week and successfully changed a plan on my account. About an hour later that day I received a message from the EE SMS service thanking me for my order but quoting the wrong account number and email address (i.e not related to me at all).
Then today I recieve another message from EE that my broadband equipment is on its way. I already have EE broadband, so I don't know why I've been sent more equipment.
I returned to the EE store today to investigate and they cannot locate the rogue account number that was sent either at EE or BT using the systems they have access to. My account details all look in order on their systems.
Has anybody else had this?
My concern ranges from a data processing glitch during system maintenance, a transgression of GDPR, a data breach at EE, or a hacking of EE SMS servers.

I would suggest calling us on 150 and supplying the account number and email address within the text message, the team can check if this can be located and help you further.
Let us know how you get on after calling.
