Is this a scam?

Hi, I'm currently being phone by a Manchester number 0161 520 0037, saying they are EE and I'm being offered a 20% discount for 12 months for being a loyal customer, or a handset upgrade (I've only recently upgraded!). The caller doesn't appear to be in the UK (saying good afternoon when its morning, could be a genuine mistake of course). Is this genuine or a scam please? I'm sufficiently suspicious I've ended the call without providing any further information.

Hello @swardrop ,

Welcome to the community,

I have just put the number in the browser to check, and it appears to be a scam, certainly not one of EE’s numbers, from what I can see. Well done for not giving out any personal information.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

It’s definitely a scam because they have just tried to contact me claiming they’re three network.
