Cloned number?

I think my number has been cloned.

I keep receiving messages and calls from numbers asking who I am as they don't have it saved.

I legit call about 3 people a month so it certainly isn't me.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a solution?

I really don't want to change my number as it has been the same since I was about 15.

@Vikstar93  Your number is being spoofed it’s not been cloned otherwise you’ll have a bill that’s higher than normal plus it’s not possible to have 1 number over 2 SIM cards.     Hopefully the person doing this will get bored of it or perhaps grow up.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hi @Vikstar93

Thanks for getting in touch and telling us about this, I can imagine it's concerning when you're getting calls and messages asking who you are.

Do they ask for any other personal details when they contact you?

No they didn't ask for any info, just asking "who is this? I don't have the number saved and you tried to call"

Ahh, thank you. That makes more sense as my bill is always the same price.

I hope they get bored!

Hi, yes this has happened to me as well. I keep getting people calling me saying I've phoned them but I haven't. I just advise them to block my number to stop the calls, there's nothing EE can do apart from change your mobile number which I cant do as I've had this number for almost 20 years! Its an automated dialler they use and they cover the number with random number (mine or yours) so you can't report the scam number. Its frustrating but apparently it subsides after a while as they change the number every so often.

Ahh, that's a good idea, if I get anymore I'll tell them just to block the number.

I am the same, I have had the same number for about 17 years, and it took me long enough to memorise it, never mind learn a new one haha!
