ee's own mobile number not accepted when trying to keep the old number

as in title, says not a right number and it have to start with 07 (pro - tip) it does.

@mleczko   Did you take out a new contract?  Because you can not port a number from one EE account to another EE account,  you upgrade to keep the same number.   You now have to move your number to a different network on PAYG and then port it back to your new account.  

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

i just bought a 5gb £10 sim from the shop and trying to switch from my pay monthly o2

If your account hasn't been activated yet, the number won't be recognised by the number transfer form.

Have you started using the SIM yet?

i tried to text got error message. sim is just from the local spar. how do
