I recently upgraded my iPhone 12 to a 16Plus. The new phone is eSim and I understand the Sim in my old phone is now inoperative. Does the new phone also carry a physical Sim? I am thinking that if I have a problem with the new phone i have no way of using an older phone that I keep for emergency backup........Previously I was able to move the Sim card into the backup phone.............

@Razboy is there a small hole on the side of the iPhone 16 ? if there is you put the Sim pin in there with a push and take the SIM card tray out so you can put your Sim in it. You don’t have to use the eSIM, if you’ve transferred to the eSIM already you’ll have to request a replacement SIM card
