I have recently requested an early cancellation of my contract and was given a pac code but I do not wish to leave ee instead a would like to change my plan to a pay as go. Do I still need to use the pac code?

No, you don't need the PAC code. That's just for porting your existing number to another network. I think you can just buy a top up voucher and apply it, then purchase a subscription plan for PAYG. I just did this today after closing my monthly account, had a store assistant help me to do this though.

If you do not use the PAC nowt will happen to your contract. You now need to contact EE giving 30 days notice of cancellation of your mobile contract & request it be moved to PAYG.
