I did a search and there's lots of discussion on transferring eSims specifically between iPhones, but I couldn't find talk about doing it with Android phones.
I've got a Pixel 6 Pro with an eSim and will be receiving a Pixel 8 Pro soon. How do I go about transferring my eSim to my new phone?

Hi @ByteSlinger
Welcome to the community.
With android devices, you need to request a new SIM card through your My EE account when upgrading. Select the eSIM option.

Hey Chris,
Thanks for your reply.
Is this something I just do when I've got the new phone and have it powered on or is it something I need to do in advance?
Also, do I need to delete the eSim on my old phone first to do this?
I'm not getting the new phone as an upgrade through EE but have bought it outright so is there any difference in the process as I'm not doing an EE upgrade?
Thanks

I would order it when the device arrives, @ByteSlinger. You could also pop into an EE Store so they can help swap it over there and then, if you prefer.
Yes, it's the same 'new device' process as an upgrade. 🙂

Ok thanks.
So I'll wait for the new phone to arrive
Would I be right in thinking then the best thing to do is just set up the phone on WiFi, download the EE app, and transfer it using that?

Yes, set it up on WiFi, then request the eSIM, @ByteSlinger. That's swap your number from your old phone to your new one.

Ok great, thanks.
So do I need to cancel/delete my old sim, or will that happen as part of the transfer when I request and register my eSim on my new phone?

Once you register the new eSIM the old one will deactivate, @ByteSlinger

I read somewhere that the Google Pixel 8 series come with an eSIM migration tool to simplify the need for requesting a new eSIM on upgrade or is this not active for EE eSIMs?
