Transferring a number to current contract

Hello, I currently have a sim only contract with EE. I’m looking at getting a new phone & contract with a different network. My husband is currently PAYG with a different network but would like to take over my current sim only contract with EE.
I will be transferring my number to the new provider but can my husband transfer his current number to my current EE sim only contract? Or would I have to cancel my sim only contract all together?

Im happy to leave the current EE contract in my name

thanks

He can't! By porting your no. to your new provider it auto cancels your EE contract.

Thanks for reply! I thought that might of been the case but thought it was worth asking to save to hassle of topping up 🤣
