So I tried to upgrade my ee sim. Couldn't do it on webpage. Tried chatline. They tried to sell me a broadband package. When I said no and logged out I received a load of texts with pin numbers in a childish display of temper. And this is meant to be the UK best network?

If you were discussing your account, then that would require account security to be passed. I'm at a loss why one-time-passwords and suchlike, are a "childish display of temper" or anything remotely similar?
And no idea why a customer-service process should have anything to do with network awards.
