Sim Card Not Working After ESim

Hi All,

So i was recently gifted an Iphone 11 (unlocked). Upon excitement i quickly set it up and inserted the sim card without reading about the ESIM option. My new phone now only works with mobile data or Wi-fi but doesn’t work normally as my text messages aren’t working, only imessages. have i deactivated my sim by mistake ? if so how can i fix this as i will need to sort this asap as i use my phone for work. cheers Mike

Welcome to the community,

Does your phone show a cellular signal? If it does then can you check in settings, scroll down to messages and check settings there. Another thing, switch of iMessage and FaceTime, reboot phone and then go back to settings and switch both back on and see if that sorts things out.

If phone is working with mobile data, then you have cellular connection.
